Shamanic Drum - Little Wise One

This beaut was birthed by the fireside on the dark moon, on the edge of the eclipse. When my last hides arrived this one felt unloved and underestimated.

The hide seemed very thin, full of spirit holes and I pondered for a while if they would be strong enough to make a drum and yet, here they are.

And they are beautifully powerful. A delicate 14 inch deer hide drum on Ash hoop.

There is such a deep wisdom in this hide. They feel like spirit in my bones, those starlight moments, the upwards motion and the above where the heady vibrations of forward movement and spirit live.

Held on an ash hoop which always speaks to me of Yggdrasil. Upon the hoop are where all of the spirit holes rest and there feels something sublime & expected about what will emerge from those places. The ash hoop also brings this gorgeous holding of soul, of the below, the depths and darkness where mystery lives and sparks of wonder are birthed. And the reminder of ‘as above, so below’

There was much joy around this drum birthing and I sense the wise spirit of this drum is one that holds some forgotten knowing, a knowing that is vanishing from this earth. As I birthed them the story of Mary Magdalene, the knights Templar and the Holy Grail stirred, again serving as reminder of what knowing has been lost or told to suit others, rather than the truth.
