The Serpent Moon Rattle
THE SERPENT MOON RATTLE
There are moments in nature when transformation becomes visible. The snake shedding its skin or the deer casting its antlers.
The moon disappearing into darkness before returning once more to the night sky.
This rattle was born from those mysteries.
The handle is formed from a roe deer antler, gifted back to the woodland floor after serving its purpose upon the living animal. The rattle head is made from the hide of a fallow doe from the borderlands, hand prepared and shaped into a crescent moon.
Within the rattle rests clear quartz and amethyst. Quartz, long associated with clarity, amplification and illumination. Amethyst, a stone connected to intuition, dreaming, inner vision and the unseen realms.
One side of the moon carries a black crescent and golden serpent, adorned with naturally shed black mamba skin. The other bears a golden moon and black serpent.
The snake has long appeared in myth as a symbol of renewal, wisdom and transformation. A creature that teaches through shedding, release and becoming.
Around the neck rests bark-tanned mink fur, hand-spun wool, green malachite, a badger vertebra, naturally foraged woodpecker feathers and a sparrow wing.
Each element carrying its own story.
The deer, the serpent., the badger who journeys beneath the earth. The woodpecker who drums messages through the woodland.and the sparrow who moves between hedge, field and home.
The malachite, long associated with protection, growth and transformation of the heart. Together they create a rattle that feels as though it belongs to the threshold places.
A talisman of endings, beginnings and the wild intelligence that lives between them.
Handcrafted from ethically sourced and naturally gathered materials.
One of a kind.
