The Year-Long Descent

A Year-Long Mythic & Embodied Container Within Animal Body

Six seasonal weekends + final retreat
April 2027 – April 2028

An Orientation For Prospective Participants

This page is not here to persuade you, it exists to support discernment.

The Year-Long Descent is a significant commitment of time, energy, and devotion. It asks for presence, patience, and a willingness to listen.

You are not being asked to decide quickly, you are not being asked to prove readiness.

Your body already knows how to orient.

As you read, go slowly. Notice where your body softens, notice where it tightens.
Notice where something in you leans forward, and where it wants to retreat.

Discernment is part of the work.

What This Container Is

The Year-Long Descent is the deepest immersive pathway into the Animal Body body of work.

A seasonal, land-based initiatory container devoted to embodied remembering.

Across one year, participants move through six archetypal thresholds and a final retreat—descending into instinct, sensation, animal intelligence, grief, eros, shadow, and belonging.

This work is paced slowly and intentionally to honour the nervous system.

It is not a quick transformation, it is not performance, it is not intensity for intensity’s sake.

It is a remembering of how to belong inside your own skin.

The Shape Of The Year

We gather every two months for immersive weekend thresholds.

Each gathering begins Friday evening with ceremonial arrival, grounding, and descent.

Across the year participants move through:

  • Somatic and nervous system work

  • Ritual and ceremony

  • Deep imagery and mythic inquiry

  • Tracking and land-based awareness

  • Grief tending and integration

  • Ritual mask-making and archetypal embodiment

The year culminates in a final four-day retreat of witnessing, integration, and return.

The Six Archetypal Thresholds

Root & Remember
Grounding the nervous system, animal dreaming, ancestral threads

Wild Descent
Shedding cultural skins, grief ritual, reclaiming instinctual voice

Predator & Prey
Boundaries, power, survival dances, relational knowing

Shadow & Eros
Shame alchemy, sensuality, reclaiming the wild erotic

The Masked Ones
Embodied archetypes, ritual mask work, communal witnessing

Homecoming
Integration, myth-weaving, devotion to the Wild Law

Final Retreat
A rite of return, completion, and re-membering

This Work May Be For You If…

  • You are seeking sustained, deep transformation rather than peak experiences

  • You feel called to a slower, more initiatory path

  • You long for embodied, land-rooted spirituality

  • You are ready to meet instinct, grief, eros, and shadow honestly

  • You value relationship over performance

  • You can commit to long-term process and integration

This Work May Not Be For You If…

  • You are seeking quick breakthroughs or catharsis

  • You want clear linear outcomes or certifications

  • You are looking for a teacher to tell you who to be

  • You are uncomfortable with ambiguity and slowness

  • You are currently in acute crisis without support

  • You are drawn to intensity as substitute for pacing

Saying no to this container is not failure.

It is discernment.

Care & Nervous System Awareness

This work is trauma-aware, choice-led, and deeply respectful of nervous system pacing.

You will never be asked to:

  • Override your body’s signals

  • Publicly disclose personal material

  • Push beyond your capacity

  • Perform vulnerability or catharsis

All practices are invitational.

Resting, modifying, observing, or opting out are always welcome.

A Closing Note

The Year-Long Descent is not about becoming something new.

It is about remembering.

The body does not shout its truth.

It leaves tracks.

If something in you recognises this path, you are welcome to take the next step, slowly.
