With love and reverence,
Samhain Ceremonial Drum Birthing Ceremony
Near Ludlow, on the Welsh/Herefordshire border
My final drum birthing of the year, and oh, this one is going to be epic.
We gather on Tuesday 21st October, in the wild valley I call home on the Welsh / Herefordshire borderlands, just as the Samhain threshold begins to open.
This is the season of the thinning veil, when the worlds brush close and the unseen stirs just beneath the surface. A powerful time to call your drum earthside , to craft not just an instrument, but a deep companion for the path ahead.
This container will be potent, intimate, and deeply woven with the season’s energy of descent, ancestral connection, and wild remembrance.
What the Day Will Include:
Ceremony and Ritual
We begin by honouring the life of the deer and the tree that gifted the hoop. Through prayer, intention, and guided ritual, we awaken the Drum Maker that lives in your bones , calling forward ancestral wisdom and listening to the spirit of the materials.
Crafting Your Drum
Working with a 14-inch wooden hoop and your chosen deer hide, you’ll enter sacred dialogue with the materials as you stretch, weave, and birth your drum. This is a deep, intuitive process , a practice of presence, reverence, and connection with the unseen.
Drum Care & Awakening Guidance
We’ will offer guidance on how to care for your drum and prepare for its awakening, including how to listen for its voice and spirit over the coming days and months.
Closing Ceremony
As twilight falls, we’ll gather in circle to welcome the spirit of your drum into this world. Through a guided journey, you will listen for its name, message, and medicine d,eepening your connection not only to your drum, but to yourself and to the community gathered.
