These gatherings are not simply craft days, they are thresholds. Moments where hide, wood, song, and prayer meet and a drum emerges as a living ally, carrying the medicine, rhythm, and teachings of its season into your life. Each drum birthing is intimate, heart-led, and guided with deep reverence for the land, the deer, and the ancient lineage of drum making as prayer.

The Magic of the Drum
Across time and culture, the drum has been revered as the heartbeat of the Earth, a bridge between the seen and unseen, a keeper of rhythm, memory, and life.
Its steady pulse draws us into presence, awakens knowing in the bones, and calls forth the wild intelligence of the body. The hides we work with are hand-prepared by me from fallow deer who roam freely across the Welsh / Herefordshire borderlands. Each hide has been tended slowly and in deep reverence , a sacred act of devotion that honours the life given and the ancient lineage of craft, prayer, and relationship with land.
What Each Drum Birthing Day Includes
Opening Ceremony
We begin by opening sacred space and honouring the life of the deer and the tree that gifted the hoop. Through prayer, song, and guided ritual, we awaken the Drum Maker within.
Crafting Your Drum
Working with a 14-inch wooden hoop and your chosen deer hide, you’ll enter into sacred dialogue with the materials stretching, weaving, and birthing your drum in ceremony. Each step is guided with presence, care, and reverence.
Awakening Ceremony
We close by gently awakening your drum through sound and journey listening for its name, message, and medicine as you step forward into the season it was born for.

Time: 10:00am – approximately 7:30pm
Location: Ludlow, Herefordshire (Welsh Borderlands)
Exchange: £395 (all materials, tools, and guidance included)
Teas and hot drinks provided throughout the day
Please bring a sharing dish for lunch and dinner
Spaces are limited to keep the work intimate and well-held
