Shamanic Drums - Bespoke Birthing’s
As a drum maker, co-creating magical tools with kin holds a deep and beautiful resonance for me — it calls from the depth of my bones. Each time I birth a drum into this world, there is the unmistakable sound of a new life stepping forward onto these timelines. Each drum carries its own unique spirit, its own medicine, which always reveals itself through the birthing process.
I birth all my drums in deep ceremony, infused with ritual, prayer, and powerful intention. The Animal and Tree who become your drum are honoured throughout every stage of this process. This is not just craft — it is devotion. This is also Animal Body work — a return to instinct, rhythm, and the wild soul of creation. Just as my embodiment work calls us back into the primal wisdom of our bodies, so too does drum birthing call me into the sacred musculature of memory, bone, and breath.
Drum Birthing Through the Lens of Animal Body
Drum birthing, for me, is not a separate offering from Animal Body — it is an extension of it. In Animal Body, we return to the ground of our being, to our instinct, to the deep pulse of the earth that lives inside our flesh. When I birth a drum, I am walking the same path — listening with the skin, working with the breath, meeting the spirit of the hide and the hoop as living beings with stories to share.
Each drum I make is a dialogue between body and spirit. The rhythm of lacing, the stretch of the hide, the scent of the wood — all become part of the ceremony. The body leads. The hands know. The animal body of the maker meets the animal body of the drum in a sacred convergence. This is ancestral memory reawakened through touch.
When you receive your drum, you’re not just receiving an instrument — you are being reunited with a part of yourself. A remembering. A pulse that calls you back into relationship with the more-than-human world. This is the Animal Body way — embodied, relational, and reverent.
Your Drum Birthing Pathways
I offer three ways to walk with the spirit of the drum:
🜂 Commissioned Drums - I birth your drum for you, in full ceremonial devotion. This is a collaborative process where we tune into timing, intention, and elemental choice. You receive a sacred tool born in ritual, woven with deep listening, prayers, and your soul’s imprint. Details of how to commission a drum with me can be found below.
🌿 1:1 Personal Drum Birthing Sessions - Together we birth your drum in person, guided by ceremony, rhythm, and touch. These private sessions invite you into the heart of the creation process, allowing you to be fully present with the spirit of your drum from the very first breath. 🌕 Group Drum Birthing Ceremonies - Seasonal and ceremonial, these group offerings are held on the Cross-Quarters — potent times in the Wheel of the Year. In circle, we co-create our drums within the container of shared ritual, seasonal alignment, and ancestral rhythm. Commission me to Birth your Shamanic Drum
When you commission me to birth a drum, we begin with a conversation. The exchange will vary depending on size, hide, and any additional elements. As a guide:
A 14-inch drum made from Red Deer hide with a crystal woven into the handle begins at £325.
We’ll explore whether you’d like your drum birthed on a particular date — perhaps on a Solstice, a Cross-Quarter festival, a Dark Moon, or on a date that holds meaning for you.
We will also discuss:
Wood for your hoop: Oak, Ash, Birch, or Willow
Hide: Red Deer, Horse, or Reindeer
Fire-etching: Symbols or words that speak to your spirit
Hand-painted design: Optional and co-created in conversation with your drum
Handle design: Cross, Spiral Cross, Trispiral, Goddess, Stag
Crystal: Optional, woven into the handle
Each of these choices is not only aesthetic — they are an extension of your own energetic imprint. In this way, drum birthing becomes a ceremonial co-creation — a living embodiment of your Animal Body wisdom and your soul's deep long

Once we’ve confirmed the details and you wish to proceed, a £100 deposit is required to secure your drum. The remaining balance is due prior to shipping or collection. Payment plans are available if needed.
