Lammas Ceremonial Drum Birthing 10:00 AM – 7:30 PM | £375

Join us for a sacred and transformative Ceremonial Drum Birthing Day as we gather in celebration of Lammas,  the ancient cross-quarter festival that marks the midpoint between the Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.

Lammas—also known as Lughnasadh—is a time of first harvest,  when the grains are gathered and the fruits of our labours begin to ripen. It’s a potent moment to honour cycles of growth, gratitude, and release, and to give thanks for the abundance within and around us. This is a threshold between the brightness of summer and the turning inward of autumn, making it a profound time to birth new tools, set fresh intentions, and offer our creations in service to spirit and community.

We will gather on enchanted lands near Ludlow, on the Welsh and Herefordshire border—an area rich with wild beauty, where red kites and buzzards soar above and fallow deer roam freely. The land itself will hold and guide us as we enter into deep ceremonial space.

Throughout this immersive day, from 10:00 AM to approximately 7:30 PM, you’ll be guided through the sacred process of birthing your own shamanic drum, a practice that invites presence, deep listening, and connection with the unseen. Each drum carries its own spirit and medicine, which naturally emerges as you craft it in sacred ceremony.

What the Day Will Include:

  • Ceremony and Ritual -   We begin by honouring the life of the deer and the tree that gifted the hoop. Through prayer, intention, and guided ritual, we awaken the Drum Maker that lives deep in your bones—connecting you to ancient wisdom and the spirit of the materials.

  • Crafting Your Drum -   You’ll be working with a 14-inch wooden hoop and selecting your deer hide,  forming a relationship with both. As you weave the lacing and shape your drum, you’ll enter into sacred dialogue with the materials, receiving guidance and messages from the spirit of your drum.

  • Personalisation & Sacred Adornment -   You’ll be supported in exploring the design of your drum’s back lacing, and are invited to bring, bones, crystals,  or other sacred objects you feel called to include. These additions help to infuse your drum with personal meaning, energetic resonance, and spiritual intention.

  • Drum Care & Awakening Guidance -  You'll receive guidance on how to care for your drum and prepare for its awakening ceremony, including ways to deepen your connection with its voice and spirit.

  • Closing Ceremony -   As the day draws to a close, we will enter sacred space to **welcome the spirit of your drum** into this timeline. Through a guided shamanic journey,  we will listen for the medicine, message, and name your drum brings forward—deepening your connection not only to your drum, but to yourself and the community gathered.

 Additional Details:

  •  A variety of herbal teas, tea and  coffees will be available throughout the day.

  • Please bring a dish to share for a communal lunch and evening meal
